Bourjois Serum and Vitamin C

Long time no post.. I've been a very busy mummy working on assignments for my degree whilst looking after my little lady. I promised a review of the Bourjois Serum so here goes!

I have combination skin which is very sensitive. I tend to stick to higher coverage high street foundations such as Revlon Colourstay for combination skin (one of my make up bag staples... until now!).  I decided to try out the healthy mix serum after reading a flurry of positive reviews on it - and I was not disappointed!  Juggling being a mother, fiance and a degree student, I usually don't get enough sleep, when I put this foundation on in this mornings my skin is woken up! Any grey is completely sapped out and my face is left looking fresh and peachy.  The colour is very complimenting to my skin tone, pinky foundation shades do not agree with me at all, I'd say my skin is more yellow toned.  The coverage is very light but it brightens my skin with does minimise the look of any imperfections.  Under eye circles and pores are airbrushed.  I tend to add a little concealer under the eyes though as the coverage isn't quite heavy enough for my liking in that area.  The foundation doesn't dry out my skin as some others do and yet doesn't make my skin feel oily or cause break outs.  I set my foundation with max factor infinity powder compact in porcelain and this usually means that the completed look will last most of the day, although it will need touching up. It is excellent value for money and the bottle has a handy pump dispenser which always gives you just the right amount!

I highly recommend this product for anyone with combination/sensitive/dull skin.

On a side note, I've been drinking effervescent vitamin c drinks, one a day as recommended, to boost my immune system and protect me againt winter colds/flu but also because vitamin c is good for healthy teeth skin hair and nails.  Away from the technicalities of how it works, I have definitely noticed a marked improvement in how I feel when I wake up in the mornings and recommend anyone suffering from winter blues join me in my daily sunshine drink!

Over and out for now... the ironing beckons!

Bourjois Bargain!

Hello my lovely blog readers!

I have not done a product review for a while and popped into Superdrugs today casually looking for nail varnish remover and to pick up a new foundation as mine is running low.  I noticed that there was a buy one get one half price offer on Bourjois products, after having read some reviews on the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum I decided to give that a try (I will review that once I've had a chance to try it out) and then I saw this...

I've only used it once so I'm not sure how long the product actually lasts but if it lasts me a little while it was worth it! The idea is that you dip your fingertip into the bottle which has a nail varnish remover soaked sponge inside.  It literally demolishes nail varnish from simply dipping your fingertip into the sponge, it is so quick and immaculate I couldn't believe it.  The remover itself is acetone free and actually smells fruity! My cuticles looked conditioned which I believe could be down to the almond oil in the product. I am absolutely in love!! I hope it lasts me a while as if it does this little bottle will become a staple buy for me. Thanks to the Superdrugs special offer I got both the foundation serum and nail varnish remover for £12 - bargain in my opinion seeing as my usual Revlon colourstay foundation is £12 on it's own!

Has anyone else tried this? Would love to hear your views! x

Stay and Play

So I took my little one to a stay and play session this week and she absolutely loved it! I had heard about these sessions when I took my bubs to be weighed but had not attended previously as they were always scheduled for nap time! Luckily for us the new timetable was better suited to my little lady's routine.

The sessions are free to attend and I think they are a fantastic way for youngters to socialise with other children the same age, the group was for 2-3 year olds. My daughter was able to paint, draw with chalk and a variety of other media, play in the home corner, enjoy story time and singing along.  The session leaders explained that on sunny days they go outside to play a variety of games.

Seeing how much my daughter enjoyed the session I will gladly take her once a week, she didn't want to leave! I would recommend to any mother/father who's local children's centre provide stay and play sessions.

Has anyone else has any experience with stay and play? I'm considering trying out tumble tots sessions too.

Toys R Us Disney Princess Kitchen

Hello hello :)

So the Disney princess kitchen that I ordered came, I opened my front door full of anticipation and... crash! The delivery driver dropped the parcel on the floor and the moment it happened I knew something was going to be broken - and it was :(

Absolutely gutted, I called the helpline number on the delivery note.  They were very polite and apologetic and said that someone would be round to collect the broken  item on wednesday between... 8AM AND 8PM. I wasn't happy but hey, needed to be replaced.  Wednesday came, a lovely sunny day, and I was stuck in waiting for the toy to be picked up. When 8.30pm came I realised that they were not going to show. Completely furious I arranged for someone to take me to one of their stores the following morning and exchange it in store, which they did. Again, the customer service assistant was very polite and apologetic. In my opinion toys r us need a new delivery company! Don't order online guys, go in store.

As for the kitchen itself, it is absolutely lovely! Lots of little details, the sound effects are brilliant, love that it comes with mrs potts! Only negative point is that it was fiddly to put together.

Has anyone else experienced any similar problems with toys r us online?

Toodle loo!

A sprinkle of degree determination!

Hey bloggettes :)

I have been silent for a while, enjoying the gorgeous sunny weather and getting out and about with my little one.

I wanted to share a fantastic buy with you all, this little £3 water sprinkler - the kids absolutely love it it's so cheap but has been so much fun that even I have played with it! It's available from most Tesco stores or from Tesco direct online. It just attaches to a standard garden hose very easily and you can vary the height of the fountain it produces by changing your hose pipe flow, absolutely fab!

Another reason I have been a busy little bumble is because I have finally done enough research to discover that studying from home part-time towards a degree will not affect me badly financially and so I've sent off my applications! Hoping to transfer my university credit from a BA Primary Education first year course which I passed. Just waiting to hear back on my applications! I've applied to the Open University. Wish me luck :)

Toodles! x
